AFCH Asthma Advocacy Program

 

The American Family Children’s Hospital Asthma Advocacy Program in Madison, Wisconsin, is a partnership of health care providers committed to reducing the burden of asthma in Dane County. This includes improving the health of people with asthma, and reducing asthma's impact on the health care system and wider community.

Asthma Clinical Care

 

  • School Asthma Clinic: Comprehensive asthma care offered to school-aged children, with ongoing case management by school nurses. To schedule a child in the School Asthma Clinic, call (608) 263-6180.

 

  • Pediatric Advanced Asthma Care Clinic: Joint clinic for children with difficult-to-control asthma staffed by pediatric allergy and pediatric pulmonary providers at UW Health West Clinic. Call (608) 263-6180 for more information.

Asthma Education

 

  • Asthma and food allergy education for childcare providers: One-hour program featuring both asthma and food allergy education (one continuing education credit offered).

  • Asthma and food allergy outreach: Education programs available for community health partners, including school health services.

  • Madison Asthma Camp:A one-day camp held in June for school aged children providing education about asthma, nutrition and exercise. The camp is scheduled for Friday, June 10, 2016. For more information call the UW Allergy Clinic at (608) 263-6180 and request to speak with Amy.

Programs Offered 

The Asthma Advocacy Program is a local affiliate of the Wisconsin Asthma Coalition.
